CAUSE :
This problem may occur when the partial attribute set changes and then the global catalog server tries to obtain the new partial attribute from a replication partner that has been deleted (for example, a demoted domain controller).
Resolution :
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
